Of course Old Mitch is not going to do anything until the primaries are over as he already has enough mouthfoamers running on the GOP ticket this time around and he does not want to get Mad King Donalds base all worked up and saddle him with even more unelectable Republicans in the Midterm general election!

McConnell won't let it come to a vote. (Seeing as how his wife is a member of Trump's cabinet?) No conflict of interest there.

At least some of the GOP is trying to send Trump a message. Basically, don't be an idiot. Unfortunately for them, Trump has already lost it. His Performance today on Faux and Sycophants was totally unhinged. Even the hosts were trying to shut him down.

Oh, please. Trump will fire Mueller, and the GOP won’t do a thing but hide from the press.

(I did not make this up - google the text)
Email from Felix Sater to Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen:

"I will get Putin on this program and we will get Donald elected. We both know no one else knows how to pull this off without stupidity or greed getting in the way. I know how to play it and we will get this done. Buddy our boy can become President of the USA and we can engineer it. I will get all of Putins team to buy in on this, I will manage this process".

High praise for Mueller from the GOP:
    (these are actual quotes)
"Mueller is a great selection. Impeccable credentials. Should be widely accepted."
    Jason Chaffetz (R)
"I commend (Department of Justice) for bringing in an independent voice to help bring clarity to this situation," said Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah
Rep Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., called Mueller " a well respected and trusted veteran of the FBI" and said "this special counsel appointment is a step in the right direction on getting answers on the many questions we have with Russian meddling in our election and our democracy."
Republican Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio tweeted: "The issue of Russian meddling in our election must be investigated fully & former FBI dir. Mueller is well qualified to oversee this probe."

Are McConnell's backers the same people who complained about Harry Reid's antics?

  • Timehascome

Trump woke up this morning thinking..."Where did Ronny say he put them???!!!"...then, as he looked out the window...he wondered where the Kremlin Building went!!!!

    - Trump

God, FOX and Friebds shut down Trump during his rant this morning. Anyone else embarrassed by this? Has he lost his mind.

Let Trump toss & turn with sleepless nights now that Dr. "Candyman" Ronny's gone...and...Mueller is still here and chugging along.
Trumps Melt Down is just the beginning. Wait until his Withdrawls kick in now that the Docs "GONE!"
You keep on keeping on with what you're doing Mueller! America appreciates your hard work!. Everyone but Trumps Fan Base that is.

Weren't speed limits on highways unnecessary until AFTER accidents and bodies started piling up? Same with the special counsel. There will be a collective republican "oops" right after Mueller is fired.

  • Stonecrusher

Were it not for the "hate Trump" attitudes, this would never be an issue. Mueller has run amok, pursuing issues that have nothing to do with collusion, just efforts to sink Trump.

I am no fan of McConnell but in this case he is correct. The President's ability to fire a special council is embedded in Article II of the US Constitution. That needs to be changed by amendment, not legislation.
